The Expressway opened in yesterday. The first accident reported today morning.
Sri Lanka is a wonderful land, its present punch line is 'Miracle of Asia' and we experience many miracles, the accident being the latest.
Here we get the equipment , the gadget first. Sri Lankans tend to grab the latest gizmos without knowing what it is and how to operate. Sri Lankans never read the operating manuals comes with the gadget. They never refer catalogues to check what suits most for them. So naturally they lack knowledge though they have the equipment. And they pay a huge price for this mismatch.
Can anyone remember when motorcycles first stormed this island in 80's. There were many accidents and the surgical wards in hospitals were named 'Honda waattuwa' or 'Yamaha waattuwa' . They got the bike not the knowledge to ride. One can see hi fi sound systems with their speakers/woofers wrapped in polythene in the living rooms of Sri Lankans. The sofa settees covered with cloth, windows curtained with many layers of thick cloth.
God, please give this poor nation a little bit of knowledge.
